Pathway to Progress

The University of Sargodha is a leading public-sector university in the province of Punjab, Pakistan, with roots that go back more than a century. The University's story began in 1916 in the historic town of Shahpur Sadar with the founding of O'Brien Islamia High School. Housed in elegant Indo-Saracenic red-brick buildings, the school had a mission that went beyond education: to enlighten minds, build character and create opportunities for the people of the region.

In 1929, the school became Government College Shahpur, a milestone in the educational history of the region. In 1934, it was renamed De'Montmorency College and grew into a symbol of academic progress and distinction in Punjab.
